Man Arrested For Allegedly Killing Brother’s Pregnant Wife In Ilorin…Body Dismembered

A shocking incident that occurred in Temidire 4, Egbejila, Ilorin, on Thursday, has become a ‘topical issue’.

While many have continued to ask questions and involuntarily provide probable answers, some however insinuated that it was a case of ritual killing.

A pregnant woman, Esther Enemo was brutally murdered with her body dismembered and her husband, Mr Ekene Enemo, who had left Ilorin for a town in Kwara North, must have had the news of his wife’s passing coming to him as a devastating blow.

Vigilant neighbours however saved Ekene the agony of suspense and trouble that would have followed his wife’s disappearance without a trace as they noticed that blood was falling in drops from the polythene bag the victim’s brother-in-law was carrying and subsequently raised the alarm.

Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement she issued in Ilorin on Saturday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com not only confirmed the incident but also noted that Mr. Sylvester Enemo, the late Esther’s brother-in-law has been arrested and taken into custody.

‘The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public of a tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Temidire community, Egbejila Road, Ilorin.

‎At about 0900hrs, a resident of the area reported a suspected foul play at the residence of one Mr. Ekene Enemo. Following a swift police response, a team of detectives visited the scene of the incident, where the dismembered body of Mrs. Esther Enemo (aged 39 years) was discovered in the bush behind her residence. A further search led to the recovery of other parts of her body concealed in a sack and dumped beneath a nearby community bridge.

‎A suspect, one Mr. Sylvester Enemo (aged 29 years), younger brother to the victim’s husband, who was seen leaving the house a few minutes before the discovery of the incident, has been arrested in connection with the crime. In contrast, the husband, Mr. Ekene Enemo, has also been contacted for necessary clarification. The remains of the deceased woman have been evacuated and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) morgue for autopsy.

‎The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Ojo Adekimi, PSC, MNIPS, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter, assuring that the state police command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that justice is served.

‎While the state police command deeply regrets the unfortunate incident, we appeal to members of the public to remain calm and avoid speculations capable of inciting fear or tension within the community. The police are fully committed to unravelling the circumstances surrounding this incident and bringing all perpetrators to face the full weight of the law’ the statement said.

‎The state police command also reassured citizens that adequate security strategies have been reinforced across the state to safeguard lives and property while urging residents of the state to continue to cooperate with the police by providing useful information that can aid ongoing investigations and security operations.

‘The Kwara State Police Command remains steadfast in its resolve to protect all residents and ensure that peace prevails in our communities’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
