Man Arrested For Kidnapping Breaks Free In Kwara As Father Dies From Gunshot Wounds…Injured Vigilante Hospitalized

 A young man, Bello Doti, who was arrested for kidnapping, broke free after his father, Alhaji Doti  attacked security personnel and vigilantes in Kwara State on Tuesday.

In the melee that ensued,  Alhaji Doti was shot and he later died from gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred at Kara Market, Iyana Share, Ifelodun Local Government. 

 Spokesperson for Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement she issued in Ilorin on Wednesday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that a manhunt has been launched for Bello Doti.

 ‘The Kwara State Police Command under the amiable CP Adekimi Ojo’s leadership confirms an incident that occurred in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Kara Market, Iyana Share, Ifelodun Local Government Area, during a joint police–vigilante operation to apprehend a criminal suspect.

During the operation, the suspect, identified as Bello Doti, was seen and while officers and vigilante members were effecting his arrest, his father, Alhaji Doti arrived at the scene of the incident and, without provocation, attacked one of the vigilante members with a machete, inflicting severe injuries. In the ensuing confrontation, the assailant sustained gunshot wounds and was later confirmed dead at a medical facility. The injured vigilante is currently receiving treatment, while the body of the deceased person has been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Mortuary.

Amid the disturbance, Bello Doti managed to escape and remains at large. The Command has launched a manhunt to ensure his swift arrest and prosecution.

The Kwara State Police Command headed by CP Adekimi Ojo psc, mnips strongly warns residents against obstructing or violently interfering with law enforcement operations, stressing that such acts will be met with the full weight of the law.

Members of the public are urged to remain calm, cooperate with security agencies, and provide credible information that can assist in the ongoing operation.
