Man Dies After Being Hit With Stone By Co-Tenant During Argument In Port Harcourt

Augustine, who is in his 60s, has died after being hit with stone during argument in the Railway axis of Elekahia, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

 Augustine was sitting in front of his apartment and was in a relaxed mood after returning from work when a co-tenant confronted him and accused him of defecating behind the compound.

Angered by this accusation, Augustine questioned how someone of his age could be responsible cognizant that there are many children in the compound, and this led to a heated argument and the man died in the process.

‘The woman went behind the house and saw faeces. She then asked the man, who was sitting in front of his house, if he was responsible, and they started quarrelling. The man said he had just returned from work and questioned how an elderly man like him, over 60 years old, could do such a thing when there are children in the compound.

The woman then got sand and threw it at the man which made him get up from where he was sitting, and they began to fight.

She then picked up a stone and hit him with it. As we speak, we are at Elekahia Police Station, and a crowd has gathered. The man is dead. His body is inside a car’  Onyedikachi, who witnessed the incident, said.

Augustine, he added,  was taken to two different hospitals before he was declared a brought in dead patient at  the third hospital,.

 Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko,  who has confirmed the incident, added that the woman had since been arrested.

‘Yes, I can confirm the incident. The woman has been arrested, and the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department.

During interrogation, the woman claimed that the man had hit her and that his children were fighting her, pelting her with stones. She said that while she was trying to dodge, a stone accidentally hit the man.

As I said, she is in our custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
