‘Man Of The Moment’ Nyesom Wike Maintains ‘Laughing Mood’ With Anyawun’s Return As PDP National Secretary

Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, who has gotten recognized as ‘man of the moment’ when it comes to Nigerian politics, won the ‘second leg’ of his ‘political battle’ on Friday.

He had earlier in the week gotten the upper hand with respect to the power struggle between him and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The minister and his estranged political godson had engaged in power struggle since last year and those who were with the governor had been on the winning side until the Supreme Court ruling that gave the Wike’s camp the upper hand a few days ago.

Supporters of the minister sustained the ‘laughing mood’ on Tuesday with the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

While Fubara has been made to vacate the Government House and not have access to public funds until possibly August, members of the house of assembly who are loyal to Wike will continue to get ‘largesse’ from Abuja.

The Sole Administrator, retired Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas has also been directed by the president to make recourse to the Federal Executive Council which the former Rivers State governor is a principal member.

The Senate and Reps on Thursday okayed all the decisions taken by President Bola Tinubu on the political crisis in Rivers State.

Wike’s ‘laughing mood’ was revved up on Friday following the Supreme Court ruling that reinstated Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The apex Court in a unanimous judgment of a five-member panel said matters bordering on the leadership or membership of a political party is its internal affair and should not be the business of the court.

‎The court proceeded to set aside the decision of the Appeal Court, Enugu Division which had on December 20, 2024, upheld the decision of the Federal High Court, Enugu to sack Anyanwu.

The Apex Court held that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction to have given attention to the lawsuit that was instituted by Aniagwu Emmanuel.

With this new development, Wike, who is a principal member of the APC-controlled Federal Government, also has a big say and determines what should be done in PDP, the nation’s leading opposition party-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
