Man Tips Off Police About Plot To Keep Ilorin Resident In His Car Trunk And Take Him To Ibadan
A resident of Ilorin, Mr AbdulAzeez Ishaq is lucky to be alive as Adekoya Adeyemi who was asked to have his hands and legs tied and kept in the trunk of his car for onward transportation to Ibadan, Oyo State capital, had not only informed the police but also pretended to cooperate and eventually helped in getting the ‘contractee’, Mr Abdulwahab Ahmad, arrested.
Although a car trunk is where items like luggage, groceries, tools, and emergency equipment like a spare tyre and jack are kept, they had however planned to keep AbdulAzeez Ishaq there and get him transported to Ibadan .
Spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, in a statement she issued in Ilorin on Thursday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Abdulwahab Ahmad had since been arrested and taken into custody.
‘The Kwara State Police Command has recorded another operational success following the swift arrest of suspects involved in a criminal conspiracy and attempted armed robbery in Ilorin.
On November 10, 2025, one Abdulazeez Ishaq of Gerewu, Ilorin, reported that Adekoya Opeyemi a.k.a. Justice told him that he was contracted by one Abdulwahab Ahmad to kill him and steal his Honda Accord (2013 model).
Acting on Abdulwahab’s instruction, Adekoya was asked to have the victim’s hands and legs tied and kept in the trunk of his car after which he will drive to the Unity area of Ilorin where he (Abdulwahab) will take possession of the car and leave the Kwara State capital for Ibadan.
In a tactically coordinated operation, cops advised the complainant to play along while surveillance was mounted. The suspect was swiftly arrested at the agreed location as he attempted to take possession of the car, thereby foiling the planned robbery and murder.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo psc, mnips commended the cops for their professionalism and urged members of the public to remain vigilant, share credible information promptly, and continue to support the police.
