Man Who Reportedly Drank His Uncle’s Blood After Killing Him In Ebonyi Remanded In Custody
Chief Magistrate, Chinedu Agama of Abakaliki Magistrates’ Court II, Ebonyi State has ordered that Mr Emmanuel Nwedu, who killed his uncle, Mr Godwin Nwedu should be remanded in a correctional centre.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the suspect, who is facing murder charges, did not have his plea taken because he had no legal representation.
Mr Emmanuel Alo, a Senior State Counsel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 24 in Ugboenyim, Ebonyi Local Government, Ebonyi State.
Alo submitted that the defendant caused the death of Mr Godwin Nwedu by using a stick to hit him in the head.
He had also reportedly drank his blood after committing the dastardly act.
‘The defendant thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 329 (1) of the Criminal Code Law, Cap 33, Vol. 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of 2009’ he said.
Chief Magistrate, Chinedu Agama ordered that the defendant should be remanded in Federal Correctional Centre, Abakaliki while directing that the matter should be transferred to the Director of Public Prosecutions for further prosecution.
