Man Who Sold 82-Year-Old Father To Ritualist In Ekiti For N1.8m Remanded In Custody
A Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti on Monday ordered that Sunday Obasuyi ,who connived with others to kidnap and kill his 82-year-old father, Michael Obasuyi, should be remanded in a correctional facility in the Ekiti state capital.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the magistrate , Bankole Okuwasanmi , ordered that the suspects; Sunday Obasuyi (42), who is the son of the deceased; Akinniyi (51) and Bobafe Sunday (51) should be remanded in a correctional centre pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi had earlier told the court that the defendants conspired and kidnapped the octogenarian on February 1, at about 11am in Agbado-Ekiti, Gbonyin local government, Ekiti state.
His corpse was later discovered in a shallow grave.
Obasuyi had according to him in collusion with Akinniyi sold his father for N1.8m to the third defendant, Sunday , who is a ritualist.
He noted that the offences contravened Sections 280, 279 and 234 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021- Team@orientactualmags.com
