Man, Wife Give Conflicting Accounts After Getting Arrested For Burglary In Ondo
A 33-year-old woman, Ngozi Kenneth, and her husband, Adewale Olokungboye, 29 years, have continued to give conflicting accounts in respect of the roles they played in some burglary cases in Ondo state.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Ngozi and Adewale were arrested by members of the Ondo state security outfit Amotekun, for their alleged involvement in burglary cases in Akure through which they have cornered goods worth millions of naira .
The young woman disclosed she has other accomplices who after breaking into people’s homes and shops would do fake affidavits to transfer ownership of such properties to the family.
‘l don’t participate in it. I only wait till the end of the operation to receive the goods after which I do a fake affidavit to change their ownership to ours.
I was not the one who broke into the shop. I only went with Daniel.
After breaking into the shop, Daniel came to meet me with the goods where I was waiting for him. Yes, I used to do affidavits for the stolen goods .
Once the goods are stolen, we do the fake affidavits to show that we’re the rightful owners of the stolen goods’ she said.
Adewale Olokungboye however denied prior knowledge of his wife’s involvement in burglary cases until the arrival of Amotekun Corps at their residence where the stolen goods were kept.
‘My wife was the one that went to break into the shop. She went with Seun and Daniel in the middle of the night.
It was raining heavily that night. It was when I woke up that I saw the goods that they went to steal.
I did not bother to ask her where she got the goods from because I had to rush to work that morning.
It was when Amotekun officers came to the house to arrest them that I realized that they went to steal the goods. She is the one who perfected the affidavit to make the goods legally hers.
My wife and I have been arrested in the past by SWAT in the state for stealing.
But after that, I left her in Akure and relocated to Ado-Ekiti. This time around, I decided to come and check on the twins she had for me; that was how I was arrested with her’ he said.
‘Immediately after stealing the goods, they will go and do a fake affidavit that would make them become the owner of any property they steal’ the state commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, said-Team@orientactualmags.com
