Ahead of the commencement of the Mass Housing programme for teachers across the state, the Kwara State Government has begun engagement with relevant stakeholders that are critical to the successful execution of the project, beginning with the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Teachers ( NUT ), Kwara State chapter.
The interactive meeting which took place at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Ilorin, saw both parties bearing their minds on their expectations and roles in the project.
The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Aliyu Muhammad Saifuddeen, while addressing the NUT delegation, said the interactive meeting became necessary in order to carry every stakeholder along at the start of the mass housing project.
This, he noted, was premised on the principle of transparency and inclusiveness of the Mallam Abdurahman Abdulrazaq administration.
Issa Adesola Marufat, who is the ministry’s spokesperson, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Arc. Saifuddeen also urged the NUT to make relevant data and other necessary information that will enhance the smooth, timely and seamless execution of the project available to the ministry.
He commended them for their continued loyalty and support for the Abdurahman Abdulrazaq administration, while assuring them that the administration will not let them down in this regard.
The state NUT Chairman, Comrade Oyewu Bashir commended Governor Abdurahman Abdulrazaq for coming up with what he called ‘ a novel idea of providing housing for teachers in the state’.
He added that Kwara teachers had never had it so good under any administration in the state like it had been under Governor Abdulrazaq ‘who has practically demonstrated in many instances his compassion for teachers in the state’.
Comrade Bashir assured that the Union will do all that is possible to ensure that the project becomes a reality.
In attendance at the interactive meeting were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajia Afusat Nike Ibrahim, General Manager, Kwara Housing Corporation, TPL Giwa Mohammed, Director Personnel, Finance and Supply, Dr. (Mrs.) Idowu Bosede Anu, Director Building Service, Mallam Abioye Tunde Zarumi and other top management staff of the Ministry- Team@orientactualmags.com
