MC Oluomo Elected As NURTW President In Osogbo
The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has gotten a new set of leaders and the new National President is Mr Musiliu Akinsanya, who is popularly called MC Oluomo.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Akinsanya, a former Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter, was the sole candidate in the election that took place at the Union’s Zonal Secretariat along Osogbo/Ikirun road on Saturday.
Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election that was held during the Union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference which was monitored and observed by the acting National President, Aliyu Issa-Ore.
Giving his speech, Issa-Ore explained that the Union’s Constitution stipulates that the zone that will produce the National President would gather to choose a candidate and consequently present the person who has been chosen to the national body.
The acting NURTW President, who was represented by Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance at the union’s National Headquarters in Abuja, added that ‘The Southwest zone has fully complied with the Constitution in getting Oluomo elected as President’.
The delegates also elected Tajudeen Agbede as Vice President, Southwest, while Akeem Adeosun has emerged as Trustee from the Zone.
‘I have forgiven everyone who has offended me, and I hope those I have offended will forgive me as well.
