Media Reports Untrue, Kebbi Govt’s N30m Donation Not Rejected-CAN

Kebbi State governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has donated the sum of N30 million to the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaji Zaiyanu Aliero announced the donation during the special prayer service organized to bring the Healing and Deliverance Crusade held in the state to a close at Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

The commissioner noted that the state government made the donation to support the fencing of the cemetery land recently allocated to CAN by the state government while thanking the organizers of the crusade, Dr. Paul and Dr. Mrs. Becky Paul Enenche, along with CAN leaders in Kebbi State, for offering prayers for peace, unity, and progress in the state.
He described the governor’s kind gesture as a demonstration of his commitment to religious tolerance and inclusive governance.
‘For days now, our land has been blessed with fervent prayers, powerful preaching, and divine encounters. This crusade has united people across backgrounds and denominations in a spirit of hope and faith’ he noted.
Aliero further highlighted the administration’s inclusive approach by noting that Governor Idris has appointed three Christians as Special Advisers, about 20 as Senior Special Assistants, and over 30 as Special Assistants.
He also cited the appointment of Mr. Ibrahim Doro as member of the state Judicial Service Commission and the payment of the N18 million Jerusalem pilgrimage debt owed by the state CAN chapter.
‘In addition, the governor ensures annual Christmas welfare packages for Christians and he has also approved parcels of land for Christian cemetery in the state capital.
These actions are meant to foster integration, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among all religious groups’ Aliero added.
In the meanwhile, Kebbi State CAN has described as untrue media reports claiming that the association rejected the N30 million donated by the state government.
The state CAN chairman, Venerable Ayyuba Kanta in a statement issued on Thursday, clarified that the money was never a personal gift to any pastor.
‘We wish to make it clear to the general public and the state government that the N30 million gift was in support of the Kebbi State Healing and Deliverance Crusade held in Birnin Kebbi. The event was jointly organized by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and the Kebbi State Chapter of CAN’ the statement said.
CAN added that Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche, who ministered during the crusade, has a personal principle of not accepting gifts during his evangelical or philanthropic engagements and he had consequently advised that the donation should be used for developmental projects at the discretion of leaders of the state CAN.
The association disclosed that the money had since been made available for the construction of a perimeter fence at the Christian cemetery that was recently approved by Governor Nasir Idris.
Kanta described Governor Idris as ‘a jolly friend of all Christians and CAN leadership in the state’-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
