Military Widows Association Honours Gov Idris With Award, Praises His Support For Families Of Fallen Heroes

The Military Widows Association, Kebbi State chapter, has honoured the governor of Kebbi State, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) with an award in recognition of his unwavering support and compassion for the families of fallen heroes.

Presenting the award on behalf of the association, the Chairperson, Hajiya Asmau Umar commended Governor Idris for his consistent benevolence and welfare initiatives, which, she noted, have positively impacted the lives of military widows and orphans across the state.

She added that the governor has continued to acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices made by their late husbands in securing the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Hajiya Asmau added that the governor’s empowerment programmes have given the widows renewed hope and a sense of belonging, assuring him of the association’s continued support. 

She also presented a formal request for a vehicle to ease the association’s activities.

While receiving the award, Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation to the association for the honour and pledged his administration’s sustained commitment to their welfare.

He reiterated that the sacrifices of fallen heroes must always be remembered and respected.

‘The current Government of Kebbi State is a people-oriented administration, and we will always live up to our responsibilities’ he said.

The governor also assured the association that their request for a vehicle would be given due consideration.
