Military’s Assertions On ‘Safety Conditions’ A Mockery Of Security Situation In Kwara-PDP

Kwara State PDP submitted on Thursday that it was alarmed by what it described as ‘unfounded claim made by the Nigerian Military’ that ‘Kwara remains one of the most peaceful states in the country’, alleging that this assertion is incorrect.
‘We consider this spurious pronouncement, made without any credible data or empirical security index, as not only dishonest but also a direct insult to the people of Kwara State—especially victims of insecurity, their bereaved families, and communities currently under siege by terror and criminality’ the party said in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara on Thursday.
The party alleged that the Nigerian Military, an institution expected to uphold professionalism and truth, has allowed itself to get dragged into the dirty politics of deception and propaganda at the instance of the current administration in the state.
Kwara State PDP also alleged that security situation in the state has been politicized.
‘How do we tell the families of kidnapped victims who were traveling to Offa , the grieving mothers and children in Kaiama who had their parents brutally murdered, the displaced farmers in Baruten, the widows in Ifelodun and Isin, the people of Koro who had their king killed in cold blood , that Kwara is ‘peaceful’?
This statement is a slap in the face of countless victims whose blood have stained our soil, and whose cry for justice remain unanswered. It is nothing short of psychological warfare on traumatized citizens who are being told their pain doesn’t exist, their fear is imaginary, and their losses are irrelevant in the eyes of those who ought to protect them.
Any attempt to politicize security matters is a dangerous gamble that will only embolden criminals and worsen the suffering of our people and also disrespect the memories of those whose lives were lost to the failures of governance.
Our party urges the military and sister security agencies in Kwara to resist temptation to become tools in the hands of a failed leader. Restoring peace is what matters to an average kwaran and not media content creation’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
