Misconduct: Gov Abba Yusuf Sacks 2 Aides, Urges Respect For Ethical Standards

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has launched another purge that resulted in the sack of two top government officials at the weekend.

The governor directed that two Senior Special Assistants should be sacked sequel to reports submitted by investigative committees set up to probe separate cases of misconduct.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this directive was made known in a statement issued on Saturday by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim.

‘The governor approved the sack of Abubakar Umar Sharada, Senior Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation, after a Special Investigative Committee indicted him as the mastermind of the bail for a dangerous drug baron, Sulaiman Aminu Danwawu’ he said.

The statement added that Sharada’s ‘culpability in the controversial bail process’ was confirmed ‘through the personal testimony he gave while appearing before the committee’.

Sharada was directed ‘to hand over all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary, Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs (REPA), Office of the SSG, on or before the close of work on Monday, August 11, 2025, while he was also ‘cautioned against parading himself henceforth as a public officer under the present administration’.

Tasiu Adamu Al’amin Roba, Senior Special Assistant, Cabinet Office has also lost his position following his arrest for rebagging grains meant for distribution to poor people at a warehouse in Sharada in 2024.

Charges have since been preferred against him and he is facing charges bordering on theft and criminal conspiracy for allegedly diverting public assets.

He has been asked ‘to hand over all government property in his possession, including his ID card, on or before Monday, 11th August 2025’ while he was also  ‘cautioned against parading himself as a public official’.

Hon. Musa Ado Tsamiya, Special Adviser on Drainages, was however lucky as he was cleared of all allegations by an investigative committee that affirmed his innocence.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to discipline, transparency, and zero tolerance for corruption, warning all public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity both in their official duties and private lives.

The statement concluded by advising members of the public ‘not to engage the two sacked political appointees on any issue that has to do with Kano State government noting that ‘whoever does that, does it at his or her own risk’-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
