Mob Reportedly Drags Former Gov Obaseki’s Cousin To Oba Of Benin’s Palace To Pay Allegiance

Chief Executive Officer of Hosamudia Farm, Mr Don Pedro Obaseki, who is former governor Godwin Obaseki’s cousin, was attacked by a mob, stripped naked and dragged to the palace of Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare ll to pay allegiance at the weekend.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that he was playing football at Uwa Primary School before they suddenly pounced on him and dragged him to the palace.

In a viral video, Obaseki was made to kneel at the gate of the Oba’s Palace and they reportedly told the palace guards that they had brought an Oghion (enemy) of the Oba.

In the video in question, some palace chiefs, who spoke in Bini, said the Oba was on his way to the Holy Arousa Cathedral for a thanksgiving service to mark the end of Igue festival.

‘Today is Thanksgiving Day at the Holy Arousa. We don’t want any trouble. If there is anybody that counts himself as an enemy of the Oba, allow him and see how he will end up’ he said.

It was one of the chiefs who later came to Obaseki’s rescue and allowed him to seek refuge in the palace.

Mr Godwin Obaseki was the governor of Edo State between 2016 and 2024, and the relationship between him and the palace was far from being ‘excellent’ during his governorship especially towards the tail end of his administration-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
