Moshood Aigoro Flags Off Empowerment Programme In Ilorin, Discloses Reasons For Choosing NNPP As His New Party

A popular politician in Kwara State, Alhaji Moshood Bola Aigoro, who declared that he would be bidding to become the governor of Kwara State in 2027 a few days ago, has also disclosed reasons for choosing the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) as his new party.
Alhaji Moshood Aigoro was until recently a prominent member of Kwara State APC.
He noted that being an altruistic person, he had for long admired, appreciated and respected the National Leader of NNPP, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for being a man of the people, and a good-hearted and benevolent politician.
Alhaji Moshood Aigoro said this during the flag off ceremony of his empowerment programme in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, on Thursday.

The empowerment programme targets 10,000 people as beneficiaries between 2024 and 2027.

Clarifying that encouraging people to take charge of their lives is different from making grants available to them, he submitted that each of the beneficiaries will get a chair, a table, a POS machine and N10,000 cash adding that Moneypoint has already trained two people, Hawau and Mrs. Elizabeth Babatunde who will in turn train the beneficiaries.
They will however repay the money in a way that they can easily cope with as they will not be overburdened.
‘It is interest-free and when they repay, we will make it available to a new set of people, we want our people to be self-sufficient’ he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Jumoke Adepoju , a grocer, who commended Alhaji Moshood Aigoro for his gesture of goodwill, said what she has gotten will help her expand her business.

While promising to keep to the repayment period, Mrs. Adepoju, also declared support for Alhaji Aigoro’s governorship ambition.
The event which was attended by Kwara State NNPP Woman Leader, Hajia Fatimah Jumai , Mr Ishola Ogungbesan , Mr Omeiri Wisdom and Mrs Elizabeth Babatunde among others featured a prayer service that was jointly presided over by Pastor John Okorie, Dr Igho John and others.

In an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com at the event, Engineer John Gbenga , who is the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the group led by Alhaji Moshood Aigoro, said they came together to form an association because they have all been sidelined.
‘We have encouraged him to join the guber race because we are of the onion that this present government that we struggled to make it come into being has gotten us neglected and abandoned.
We actually felt cheated and we have all not benefited anything. I’m one of the founders of this group, Iam even the one heading the BoT . So , what we are doing today is just a tip of the iceberg.
This is just to motivate ourselves that whatever concerns the masses will earn our attention ,we are not those who will promote capitalism. We don’t have money but the little we have; we want to make sure that our people are not allowed to die of hunger. Like our president had said ‘ let the poor breathe’ , let the poor exist because the capitalists don’t want to know if the masses exist or not. And we are all human beings. This empowerment programme will continue and by the special grace of God, it is going to be more than this based on our budget and what is in our plans. That’s what I can say about this empowerment’ he said.

Engineer John also said he declared support for Alhaji Moshood Aigoro’s gubernatorial ambition because he is a good-natured person, who will be a friend of the masses.
‘ Yes. Actually, we have begun to pray for him and by the special grace of God, Alhaji Moshood Aigoro will emerge as governor of Kwara State in 2027.
He has been helping the masses. So, he’s going to be a governor for the masses. That is all I know because I want things to change for the better in this country.
What we need in our nation is to have leaders that are friends of the masses at all levels ,we need a masses-friendly president, a masses-friendly governor people who know the challenges of the masses. Because immediately the political office holders leave their respective local governments or states for Abuja, they forget everything about their backgrounds but in our own case ,we want to be very close to the poor and make sure that the poor breathe. And then every poor person will have his or her own way in our government. That was why we said ‘ok, who can lead this cause and we chose Alhaji Moshood Aigoro, who will emerge as the next governor of our state’ he said -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
