Moshood Bakare Commended As Market Women Receive Financial Support In Oke-Ode

A former member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Moshood Bakare has been commended for supporting market women in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun local government through the provision of financial support.

A sum of N500,000 was made available to market women in Oke-Ode during the empowerment programme held by the Moshood Bakare Foundation on Monday.

The empowerment programme aimed at providing tangible financial support for residents of Ifelodun local government and other local governments in the federal constituency, especially those who are just recovering from aftereffects of recent challenges in some communities.

A statement made available to Team@orentactualmags.com noted that the cash assistance was presented to the beneficiaries during a well-attended town hall meeting of Constituency A , Ifelodun local government.

A symbolic cheque was presented to the representatives of the beneficiaries who commended Hon Moshood Bakare for his kind gesture.

Giving his speech during the event, Hon. Bakare emphasized the importance of self-reliance and community upliftment.

‘As part of our efforts to empower our constituents, we are starting with the Oke Ode Market Women’ he said.

He further noted that the cash assistance has been made available to the beneficiaries to show transparency and efficiency of the process.


‘Everyone included in the list has since gotten credit alerts. This direct transfer ensures that the money reaches the beneficiaries immediately and directly so that they can put it to good use’ he said.

Hon. Bakare also expressed his profound hope that the cash assistance would serve as a vital lifeline.

‘I hope that this tangible support will impact their business as they are settling back into the community after the recent violent incident.

The grant is intended to help these resilient women revitalize their business, secure their livelihoods, and contribute to the economic stabilization of the area.

The market women’s empowerment initiative is just the first step in a broader strategy’ Hon. Bakare submitted while adding that ‘this is just the beginning’ .
