Muritala Awodun Promises ‘Quality Representation’ During Meeting With Former Kwara South PDP Councillorship Candidates In Ajase-Ipo

Ahead of the 2027 General Election, a Kwara South PDP senate aspirant, Professor Muritala Awodun has promised to ensure quality representation if elected as representative of Kwara South in the senate.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that he said this on Saturday, August 23, 2025, during the meeting held with members of the party in Kwara South ,who were councillorship candidates in the 2024 local government elections.

The meeting was held at the Kwara South PDP Secretariat, Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun local government, while the statement added that notable stakeholders in the party were also in attendance.

Announcing the decision to throw his hat in the ring, Professor Muritala Awodun, who presented his ‘value proposition’ and ‘selling points’ during the meeting also promised to prioritize what is good for the senatorial district and ensure ‘quality representation’.

Citing his track record of service, he promised to deliver effective representation if elected as senator in 2027 while emphasizing the importance of grassroots leadership and noting that the Councillorship candidates are important stakeholders in their respective wards.

Professor Muritala Awodun added that the political structure headed by Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki remains intact while stressing the need for ‘unity of effort’ that will result in ‘collective victory’.

He also noted that he is committed to the ideals of the PDP and the development and progress of Kwara South.

The statement also added that the 83 Kwara South 2024 PDP Councillorship candidates commended Professor Muritala Awodun for his humility, foresight and respect for the grassroots structure of the party.

‘Professor Awodun was well -received and wholeheartedly accepted by the Councillorship candidates, but it was not an endorsement because other aspirants are still coming for the same purpose and we must give them listening hears and warm reception as well, became we are one big political family, when it’s time for endorsement we will know who to endorse.

The attendees of the meeting expressed appreciation for the recognition accorded them and pledged their commitment to the progress of the PDP in Kwara South.

 Resolutions

It was resolved that:

The Councillorship candidates acknowledged the consultation, accepted and welcomed Professor Awodun’s political ambition but there is nothing like an endorsement at least for now.

The meeting reaffirmed the unity of purpose under Senator Dr. Bukola Saraki’s leadership.

Members pledged continued support for the PDP’s mission to restore good governance in Kwara South and beyond’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
