Naira Crisis:  Kebbi Govt Begins Distribution Of Food Parcels To Citizens

Kebbi state government has begun the distribution of food items to residents and citizens of the state.

This was done to ease things for residents of the  21  local governments in the state sequel to the scarcity of petrol and new naira notes and the concomitant hardships.

Items being distributed to Kebbians are garri, maize, guinea-corn and millet.

 Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Secretary to the State Government, SSG,  Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, flagged off the distribution exercise on behalf of  the governor at the government store, Bulasa near Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

 Babale Umar explained that the food parcels consisted of the consignment from the federal government and those procured by the Kebbi state government.

The SSG said  Governor  Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in furtherance of his benevolence, compassion and love for the people of the state gave the directive for the release of the grains to chairmen of local governments for onward distribution to their people.

The SSG added that separate relief materials would also be provided to flood victims in fourteen local governments in the state.

He noted that those affected in seven local governments before now, had received such items to mitigate the losses incurred during the flooding incidents recorded in the state.

Former Commissioner for Water Resources, who is the APC  house of assembly candidate, Arewa constituency, Alhaji Nura Kangiwa thanked Governor Atiku Bagudu for  consistently showing care and love to the people of Kebbi state.
