Naira Marley Says Mohbad Didn’t Suffer From Nosocomephobia As Claimed In Viral Videos, Faults Death Investigation
Azeez Fashola, who is popularly called Naira Marley, has lamented that he was made to face hard times since 2023 after the passing of a popular hip-hop act, Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad despite the fact that he had nothing to do with his death.
Naira Marley, a popular musician, also, once again, asserted that he was not responsible for the death of Mohbad, his former signee.
.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Naira Marley in a documentary of about two hours on Wednesday, talked about his relationship with the ‘Ask About Me’ and ‘KPK’ crooner while noting that he was not in the country when Mohbad died two years ago.
Naira Marley also denied bullying the late Mohbad.
Mohbad, who was once a rising star under Marley’s Marlian Music label, had left the record company following a disagreement and he died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.
Fans of the late singer had called for probe having felt that he died in suspicious circumstances and controversy had since then continued over his death with an accusing finger pointed at Naira Marley , Sam Larry and others.
In an X.com post in February this year, Naira Marley had lamented that he was falsely accused of killing Mohbad noting that accusing him of killing the late singer is unfortunate.
‘I never thought silence could be so loud. I never thought someone I called my brother, someone I protected, would leave this world with my name in his shadow. I have carried this weight, this pain, this shame that was never mine to bear.
We, as Marlians, were not perfect. We had to grow, we had to adapt.
Mistakes were made, but they were business-never war. I made peace with Mohbad. We understood each other beyond the noise, beyond the misunderstandings. And you know this.
Yet, when he took his last breath in you all’s arms, you looked at the world and pointed at me. You let them tear me apart. You let them called me a killer while you sat there, knowing the truth. Now you tell the story?
I welcomed you all into my home. I gave you my trust. And yet, my brother is gone, still not buried, and that is your fault. Telling the truth from the beginning would have given him the rest he deserves. Regardless I will always be there for him. You never thought I would survive. You never thought I would walk through the fire and face my people, maybe you hoped I would stay a fugitive. You thought I would run. Instead, I stood before the justice system, spent time in jail, and faced everything head-on while you changed the story, again and again.
But God sees all. The truth does not shake. The lies will fade, and time will reveal everything.
I have been broken, but I am not destroyed. And when the truth finally speaks, I pray your heart is strong enough to bear it’ he wrote.
The Magistrates’ Court, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, had a day earlier declared that Naira Marley had no hands in the death of Mohbad.
Revisiting the issue on Wednesday, Naira Marley alleged that on June 7, 2020, he learned that Mohbad was taking an illegal substance called Ice.
‘He told me he was taking a substance which I finally found out to be Ice (crack). I wasn’t angry, I called him and advised him and told him about the danger because I know the damage it has done to people I know from the United Kingdom. He said he got into it because of stress, but said he would stay out of it. I didn’t force him to do anything’ he submitted while adding that the late Mohbad got his own manager in July 2020.
‘He was planning to pay Tunde 25 per cent. I said ‘No, 10 per cent. My things are always plain with him. I try as much as possible to be transparent with every ounce of our dealings, and it is all love.
Our business is plain, even though we got accountants. We did 50-50; this is the first time I’m saying it. I paid for anything and everything and then we split 50-50’ he said.
He also said Mohbad did not suffer from nosocomephobia as claimed while showing a WhatsApp chat from November 2020 where he visited a hospital.
On February 24, 2022, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officers carried out a raid on Marlian house and took Zinoleesky , Mohbad and Subomi away.
Naira Marley, who said he was in Sweden, noted that Mohbad was taken away by the NDLEA officers because he had a physical altercation with them.
‘Mohbad went live (on Instagram) under duress shortly after he was released. While having a panic attack he accused me and others.
During the live session, Mohbad said, ‘If I die, everybody na Marlian Music, Naira Marley kill me’.
On their way to the hospital, he also accused his girl, Zino, a lot of people. He even accused our wives. Shortly after that, whilst in a vulnerable state of psychosis, he made a statement calling Zino a snitch’ he said.
Mohbad later remained in Marlian Music and Naira Marley disclosed on Wednesday that the late singer’s parents and his girlfriend, Wunmi had later apologized for his actions.
The late Mohbad, he noted, stopped staying frequently at Marlian house after the incident.
He added that while he was in Puerto Rico Mohbad attempted suicide on March 27, 2022.
On October 7, 2022, Mohbad’s lawyer wrote a letter to Marlian Music notifying the company of the musician’s plans to leave the record label.
‘Not long after that, in December 2022, Mohbad withdrew $72,000 from a DSP partner. All these monies he took were not his. We had to hold some of his royalty payment till he returned the money he took’ he said.
Naira Marley noted that Mohbad later withdrew the money and he stopped hearing from him and his lawyers.
Fashola also added that the last time he saw Mohbad was on October 4, 2022, while adding that he was in Amsterdam on the day he died.
Naira Marley has also faulted the ‘death investigation’ noting that he expected that those who were with Mohbad 24 to 48 hours before his death should have been arrested-Team@orientactualmags.com
