The items we are donating today are cartons of Indomie noodles, spaghetti, sugar, toilet paper, Semolina, Cartons of tin and sachets milk all aimed at providing relieve, comfort, support, and hope to those who have been affected by specific crisis or challenges.

We are aware that the Ministry of Social Development is not a revenue generating ministry and only benefits from monthly allocations from the Kwara state Government and that is why we are recognizing the tireless efforts of the ministry in serving the less privileged, the vulnerable and the disabled in our society.

We are proud to partner with you in this endeavor. Our donation is a symbol of the Comptroller General of Customs shared commitment to caring for those in need. May it bring joy, hope, and relief to those who receive them’ he said.

Sewing machines, makeup kits and other items were also presented to 67 among members of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association, (COWA), Kwara Command chapter, including wives of deceased officers.

He urged the beneficiaries to  put what they have been given to good use while warning them against selling  the items in question.

‘Invited guests, we recognize that women are the pillars of our families, our communities, and our economies. They are the ones who nurture, educate, and inspire future generations.

They take care of our children and home front while we are far away from home doing our jobs of protecting the nation’s borders from offensive goods like arms and ammunition, drugs and other illicit goods.

The aim of the empowerment is to keep you busy, self -dependent and productive while we are far away from home which will no doubt reduce the burden of always waiting on your husbands.

This empowerment programme is designed to inspire and equip our wives with skills and confidence to reach their full potential, as I believe that empowering women is essential for creating a more equitable and prosperous society.

After months of extensive training of registered wives and widows of Customs officers in different empowerment training programmes such as baking, cosmetics, sewing, and other skill acquisition. Today, under my leadership, we are empowering about Sixty Seven (67) wives and widows of Customs officers with Sewing machine, Baking oven and Make up kits.

We are proud to have produced certified and quality trainees who are graduating from different fields and not only that, also supporting them with start-up equipment and machines as their training demand.

Therefore join me as we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women, and let us continue to support and amplify their voice. Together, we can create a more just and equitable society where women and girls can thrive and reach their full potential. As we have taken the pains of purchasing these equipments for distribution free of charge to the beneficiaries, I would like to advise that these items are not expected to be resold or used to beautify our various homes but to be put to use so that you, your children and even your husbands will benefit from’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
