Newly Elected LG Chairmen Receive Certificates Of Return In Kano
The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission has issued and presented Certificates of Return to the newly elected 44 Local Government Chairmen in the state.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Certificates of Return were presented to them by the commission’s Chairman, Prof. Sani Malumfashi, on Sunday.
Malumfashi noted that the commission has the mandate to issue the Certificates of Return while urging the new LG chairmen and councilors to discharge their duties effectively.
‘By the requirements of the electoral processes, the commission is still saddled with the responsibility of issuing certificates of return to the elected chairmen and councilors as the legitimate leaders of their respective local government areas. The commission has the mandate to do that.
They are now tasked with the responsibility of attending to the official needs of their respective LGAs’ he said.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this was done ahead of the swearing in ceremony of the local government chairmen which would be presided over by Governor Abba Yusuf, at the Government House, Kano.
Recall that the state electoral commission had on Saturday declared the New Nigeria People’s Party winner of all the 44 chairmanship and the 484 councillorship seats.
‘Six political parties participated in the election: AA, AAC, Accord, ADC, APM, and NNPP.
The NNPP won all the 44 local government chairmanship and 484 councillorship positions’ Malumfashi said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
