The General Hospital, Lafiagi, Kwara state, has become one of the hospitals accredited by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in the country, a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com disclosed on Friday.
NHIA, the statement noted, has given the state-owned health facility the go-ahead to provide both primary and secondary healthcare services comprising surgery, laboratory and pharmacy.
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), formerly known as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was established by the Federal Government to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare for all Nigerians.

‘It will be recalled that the General Hospital, Lafiagi was one of the health facilities that were comprehensively renovated and equipped by the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration .
The facility had been in a state of disrepair for many years before the current administration in the state corrected the situation.
Among other factors, the good state of the General Hospital gave way for its accreditation by the federal health insurance agency’ the statement added- Team@orientactualmags.com
