Adebayo Qudus, a referee, has been suspended indefinitely by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that NFF had picked holes in Adebayo’s refereeing decisions during the Nigeria National League fixture between Gateway United and Sporting Lagos on Saturday hence the decision to suspend him.
He was accused of awarding ‘an unjustified penalty’ to Gateway United, alongside ‘several other questionable decisions’.
The match held at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode eventually ended 2–1 in favour of Gateway United.
The NFF Refereeing Development Committee described Adebayo’s conduct in the matchday 19 encounter as a breach of the Laws of the Game.
The committee in a letter sent through the Oyo State Football Association submitted that the suspended referee’s actions not only compromised the principles of fair play but also brought the game into disrepute.
‘Your actions and performances did not only negatively affect the integrity of refereeing, but equally brought the game to disrepute.
I am therefore directed to notify you that you have been suspended indefinitely and with immediate effect from refereeing entirely’ the committee submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
