Nigerian Ambassador To France , Kayode Laaro, Laid To Rest In Ilorin

Alhaji Kayode Laro, who was until his death last week, the Nigerian Ambassador to France, has been laid to rest in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital..
The deceased diplomat, who died at 63, was appointed as Nigerian Ambassador to France by former President Muhammadu Buhari in July 2020 and he had arrived in France on May 15, 2021 ,to assume duty as the nation’s representative in France, with concurrent accreditation to Monaco.
A Government House statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye noted that dignitaries led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq gathered at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin to receive the body of the late Laaro on Wednesday morning adding that the Nigerian Air Force aircraft that carried the body of the deceased diplomat was draped in the national colours as a mark of honour for his service to the country.
While noting that the Islamic funeral prayer (Salatul Janazah) had since been held for the late Ambassador Kayode Laro at his family compound in Ilorin, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye added that the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Soliu presided over the Salatul Janazah which was attended by the governor.

Other dignitaries in attendance include Nigeria’s Ambassador to Paris (France) superintending Economic and Consular Affairs, Muazam Nayaya; Deputy Head of Mission (France) , Ambassador Tunde Mukaila Mustapha; Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Rt Yakubu Danladi Salihu and other principal officers; and the AbdulRazaq family led by the governor’s elder brother and Mutawalle Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq.
The governor had earlier in his condolence message described Laaro’s death as shocking and devastating, and prayed Allah to forgive him and grant him al-jannah Firdaus.
Ambassador Tunde, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the burial rites, said the late Laaro was a complete gentleman and a diplomat par excellence.
He prayed Allah to grant the departed soul Aljannat Firdaus and console the family he left behind-Team@orientactualmags.com
