Nigerian Islamic Scholar Ibrahim Maqari Says Rumours Of His Appointment As Imam Of Masjid al-Haram Untrue
The Imam of National Mosque, Abuja, Professor Ibrahim Ahmad Maqari, has described the rumours of his appointment as one of the new Imams that would lead prayers at the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca as untrue.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the rumours of his appointment had gone viral on Sunday.
Daily Trust Hausa had also published this and it had helped to spread the rumours.
Maqari had however not only tweeted about the issue but also clarified that nothing of such had happened.
‘I have been receiving calls since morning from friends and associates that I have been appointed as Imam of the Holy Mosque.
May be it is one way of well wishing by the initiators of the rumour, or there is a name that looks alike with mine among the appointees.
I want to appreciate everyone for showing concern but am not the person’ he wrote.
