Nigerians Have Somewhat Considered Boko Haram As Normal-Obasanjo

Nigerians have somewhat accepted and considered book haram as normal which is not too good for the country, there is therefore a need to avoid despondency and address issues that have to do with the insurgent group holistically, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, has said.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who said this during the public presentation of Scars: Nigeria’s Journey and the Boko Haram Conundrum, a book authored by former Chief of Defence Staff, retired General Lucky Irabor in Abuja on Friday, also warned that book haram has become a monster in the country.

‘Boko Haram is now virtually becoming part of our life. Should we accept that? If we should not accept it, what should we do?

How much do we know? Even from the other side, and from this side, have we been active enough? Have we been proactive enough?

I think we have to ask ourselves the necessary questions to be able to deal with this thing that is now becoming a monster within our country’ he said.

He praised the former defence chief for documenting his experiences in the fight against terrorism for posterity while describing this as an act of courage.

Former president Goodluck Jonathan, who also attended the event, disclosed that Boko Haram insurgents once nominated late Muhammadu Buhari as their preferred negotiator in peace talks with his administration.

The former president added that his administration had tried all it could to end the insurgency and did the needful but the crisis proved more complex than often portrayed while lamenting that the abduction of the Chibok schoolgirls in 2014 would remain a permanent scar on his administration-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
