Nigerians , especially the social media users, showed curiosity about the development recorded at the presidential campaign rally held by the ruling APC in Minna, Niger state capital, on Wednesday.
In what could be likened to an actor making a cameo appearance in a film, APC presidential candidate , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu only made a brief appearance at the Trade Fair Complex , Minna, which was the venue of the presidential campaign rally.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that contrary to what had been the tradition, Tinubu failed to deliver a speech and only said ‘APC, APC, Niger! Nigeria, Nigeria! Sai Bago, Sai Bago, APC, APC! Sai Lolo, Sai lolo, God bless you, God bless Niger State, may God bless you’, he returned to his seat and the programme came to an end.
The Director, Media and Publicity, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Bayo Onanuga, had since said there was no cause for alarm , adding that the presidential candidate was not rushed off the stage due to health concerns as insinuated in some quarters.
Being a huge crowd, Tinubu had taken a decision to address the party supporters and sympathizers briefly.
Onanuga disclosed this in a statement made available on the official website of the APC presidential candidate.
‘A massive crowd of APC supporters welcomed the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Minna on Wednesday, as he arrived at the city for the mega rally. The cheering crowd was unprecedented, according to journalists at the Trade Fair Complex, venue of the rally.
Tinubu, who held another successful rally in Kaduna on Tuesday, arrived in Minna in the evening of the same day for a series of meetings with APC leaders.
The crowd was so huge that Tinubu spoke briefly to appreciate the supporters and identify the party candidates seeking elective positions.
Contrary to the rumours that he was rushed off stage because of health concerns, Tinubu cut it short to attend to other programmes of the day.
He commended the party supporters for coming out en masse to witness the flag off of the presidential campaign.
After the rally, Tinubu inaugurated his campaign office in the city, which was donated by Publisher of the Blueprint Newspaper and Chairman, Strategic Communications of the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council, Mohammed Malagi.
He also paid a visit to the Emir of Minna and later attended the luncheon in his honour hosted by the Governor of Niger state, Abubakar Bello’ the statement said.
It will be recalled that Malagi had sought to get nominated as APC candidate for the 2023 Niger state gubernatorial election but lost out in the guber primary election that was held seven months ago- Team@orientactualmags.com
