NLC President Commends Kebbi Governor’s Development Strides

National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) , Mr. Joe Ajaero has praised Dr.  Nasir Idris, the Kauran Gwandu’s development strides in his one year in office. 

Dr Nasir Idris is the current governor of Kebbi state, and he became the Chief Executive of the Land of Equity on May 29,2023.

Mr Yahaya Sarki, who is the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Ajaero said this while talking to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

 The statement added that Ajaero led a delegation of NLC national leadership on fact-finding visit to the state, which coincided with the first anniversary of the Idris administration.

‘We are really very impressed with what we have seen  in the state.

We were here during the electioneering, we were here six months after and we are here now. We are proud to say that we have a thoroughbred trade unionist taking Kebbi to places.

We are proud to also say that we have a product here and all is moving as planned’ the NLC President averred.

 Ajaero noted that  although the state receives one of the least allocations from FAAC when juxtaposed with other states receiving higher allocations, the level of development is  however marvelous and commendable .

The labour leader further said this explained the observed tremendous goodwill of the people of the state towards the governor and his administration.

He said, ‘We have noted the high level of hospitality and cheers from the people anywhere we go and this shows their acceptability of Dr. Nasir Idris.

Some governors would not even dare to announce their presence or even wind down their glasses while they are in their states and if they do so, they will collect’.

Praising  the myriad of achievements in the education sector, Ajaero  lauded the governor for employing 2,000 qualified teachers, renovation and construction of schools at all levels  to boost education.

The Labour Leader, also among others, said that he has verified that indigenes of the state who got scholarships to study abroad , are getting needed funds while also providing free education in all public primary and secondary schools in the state.

The NLC President further submitted that they were impressed with the payment of salaries and pensions in the third week of every month as well as defraying the inherited backlogs of pensions and gratuities.

He also described the State Secretariat Project as ‘world class’, while extolling the ongoing revolution in the health sector, security and all sectors of the economy.

Mr. Ajaero urged other state governors to emulate Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris in respect of his leadership style  and commitment to  bringing development to  the people.
