No Casualty As Fuel Tanker Catches Fire At Filling Station In Ilorin…Gov Abdulrazaq Visits Incident Scene
No casualty was recorded in the fire incident that occurred in the Alagbado area of Ilorin, Kwara state on Saturday night.
It was learned that petrol was being unloaded from a fuel tanker at the MM filling station, Ayegbami junction, Sobi Specialist Hospital road when it suddenly caught fire and it was a development that made residents of Alagbado , Okelele, Ayegbami, Dada and Oloje as well as adjoining communities to voluntarily abandon their houses and scampered for safety because of the thick smoke produced by the fire.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq visited the scene of the incident at about 11.45pm to assess the situation and commiserate with the owner of the filling station and residents of the area.
It was gathered that the fire started at about 10pm.
Fire fighters reportedly got to the incident scene a few minutes after receiving distress call and they eventually put out the fire.
Governor Abdulrazaq’s Special Adviser on Strategy , Alh Saadu Salahu, whose residence is located right behind the filling station, expressed his appreciation to the state government and the firefighters for acting promptly.
Salahu, whose family had been evacuated by neighbours, thanked the security agencies and his private guard for acting speedily and coming to his rescue .
He equally thanked residents of the adjoining communities, family, friends and relations for their concerns and the show of love.
He noted that the efforts of the state government and the gallant firefighters had stopped the fire from wreaking havoc of an unimaginable proportion.
