A ranking member of the House of Representatives, who is an APC bigwig, Rep Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, has apologized to members of his party in Osun State for the comments he made during his recent visit to the state which had sparked reactions.
Recall that Rep Doguwa ,who was in Ede alongside other federal lawmakers, had remarked that ‘With the developmental strides of Governor Ademola Adeleke and the kind of political strength I have seen here, along with the dexterity and doggedness of your humble personality, it appears to me that Osun is like a no-go area’.
The next gubernatorial election in the state will hold in 2026.
Reacting to the federal lawmaker’s comments, Mallam Olawale Rasheed , who is Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, had noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Hon. Doguwa’s assertion during the 2024 Ede Day celebration ‘reflects the true state of things in Osun state’, adding that the support for Governor Adeleke among Osun people is too pronounced that it could not escape the attention of a veteran politician like Rep Doguwa.
Rep Alhassan Ado-Doguwa however noted on Tuesday that his comments were deliberately used for political gains by Osun State PDP.
‘The PDP in Osun misused my comments to suit their local political struggles. This was a deliberate attempt to gain political advantage.
I wish to tender my unreserved apologies to our APC family in Osun State. Please accept my heartfelt apologies. By God’s grace, the days of the PDP are numbered in Osun State. In 2026, our party will bounce back in the state, Insha Allah’ the federal lawmaker submitted while pledging his unwavering support for the APC.
‘I remain the chief promoter of the All Progressives Congress across the country, including Osun State.
I never meant to embarrass or criticize my mother’s party in any way’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
