No Rift Between Me And Gov Hyacinth Alia -George Akume
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, former Senator George Akume, submitted on Saturday that there is no rift between him and the governor of Benue state, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia.
He has also submitted that the Benue state APC would no longer allow anyone to run away with the party’s mandate.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Akume, who said this during the meeting held at the Government House, Makurdi, which was attended by stakeholders in the party, added that he remains a faithful servant and ambassador of the state at the federal level.
The SGF, who was represented by Simon Shango, said the state APC is determined to ensure peace and unity among the party members.
‘The SGF said he is your (governor’s) eyes in Abuja. He appreciates the work you have done so far. In a situation like this, there must be problems but they are being solved.
The party is determined to ensure unity of purpose among the members and he (Akume) emphasized that no one will go away with our mandate anymore and we will do our best to ensure that the marriage continues.
There is no issue with the governor and they have been relating well’ he said.
While calling on party members to come together, Akume, a former governor in the state, warned political jobbers to refrain from creating enmity among party members.
Also speaking, Governor Alia, who appreciated the party for reposing confidence in him, promised that he would struggle hard to restore all the glories of the state-Team@orientactualmags.com
