‘No Sacred Cow’ Donald Trump Arrested, Appears In Court…It’s An Insult To Our Country’ He Fumes
The 45th president of the United States of America, who was the country’s first citizen between 2017 and 2021, Mr Donald Trump, was arrested and made to appear in court in Manhattan on Tuesday-a development that has proved that no one is a sacred cow.
The former president, who had announced his bid for the White House in 2024, two years ago, pleaded not guilty to 34 felony criminal charges of falsifying business records in Manhattan criminal court on Tuesday afternoon.
Trump surrendered and was placed under arrest before making an unprecedented court appearance and he heard the charges against him for the first time.
Prosecutors alleged that Trump sought to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election through a hush money scheme with payments made to women who claimed they had extramarital affairs with him. He had since denied the affairs.
Prosecutors alleged that he was also a part of a plot to suppress negative information, including an illegal payment of $130,000 that was at his instance to suppress the negative information that would hurt his campaign.
He was said to have ‘repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal criminal conduct that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned after leaving the court room, Trump immediately flew back to Florida and held a programme at his Mar-a-Lago resort which was attended by his supporters , he commented about his arrest and arraignment and previewed how he intends to fight against the charges politically as he runs again for the White House in 2024.
Though, he had been warned by Judge Juan Merchan during his arraignment not to make comments that could ‘jeopardize the rule of law’ or create civil unrest, Trump however called what he had been made to experience ‘an insult to our country’.
‘I never thought anything like this could happen in America, never thought it could happen. The only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.
It’s an insult to our country’ he said.
The next in-person hearing date for Trump’s case in New York has been scheduled to hold on December 4.
A 13-page ‘statement of facts’ had explained how Trump allegedly committed crimes to help him get elected to the White House in 2016.
‘From August 2015 to December 2017, the Defendant orchestrated a scheme with others to influence the 2016 presidential election by identifying and purchasing negative information about him to suppress its publication and benefit the Defendant’s electoral prospects’ the statement of facts says.
Prosecutors have also noted that each criminal charge preferred against the former president relates to a specific entry among the business records of his campaign Organization- Team@orientactualmags.com
