Notable Figures Honour JBO Adewumi At Daughter’s Wedding In Abuja

‘Kwara State’ literally moved to Abuja last Saturday as dignitaries and notable figures from the state attended the wedding ceremony of Barrister Timilehin Aderonke and Dr. Oladayo Oluwaseun Olayonu in the nation’s capital.

Timilehin is the daughter of a prominent Kwaran, who is a celebrated Education Czar and a philanthropist, Engr. Dr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi.

The glamorous event took place at B.M.O Events Arena, Abuja. 

Dr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi, who is the Asiwaju of Oko Irese, Kwara State, is a renowned engineer and a prominent national figure.

He is also the Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete and Chancellor/Founder, Thomas Adewumi University, Oko Irese, Kwara State. 

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Hon. Danladi, led notable figures from the State of Harmony to the event.

Other prominent Kwarans at the event include the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Abdullateef Fagbemi, SAN, who attended both the Church Service and the  wedding reception; the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru; Chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and Investments, Senator Sadiq Umar; former Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Bio; retired Security Chief, Alhaji Kola Adesina;  Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi , who represents North Central on the board of  TETFUND, Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom, Oloye  Raheem Adedoyin, who represents Nigeria and Africa on the Executive Board of the International Press Institute ( IPI), and former members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola and Hon. Danladi Olayonu

Members of Kwara State House of Assembly and members of Kwara State Executive Council including the Deputy Speaker,  Rt. Hon. Olayiwola Ojo; the Chief Whip, Hon. Ganiyu Gabriel Abolarin;  Hon. Shola Odetundun; Commissioner for Communication, Hon Bolanle Olukoju and her counterpart in Budget and Planning, Dr. Mrs Mary Arinde and her husband, Dr. Williams Arinde were in the governor’s entourage.

Also in attendance were the former Commissioner for Information in the state ,who is also the Oluomo of Oro Kingdom, Sir Ben Duntoye; APC Chieftain, Sir Debo Aderibigbe; Vice Chairman, Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, Cooperatives, Industry and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Prince Olalekan Adewoye; Managing Director, First World Communities Limited, Lagos, Prince Bode Odetundun;  Managing Director/CEO, Crownstar Projects Ltd, Chief (Engr) Sola Ajimati;  Celebrated entrepreneur and philanthropist, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi; Lagos Business Tycoon, Chief Gbenga Awoyale ( Orisun Igbomina) ; Country Programmes Manager , Malaria Consortium Nigeria, Dr. Olatayo Abikoye,  APC Chieftain, Hon. Kayode Bankole;  former member of Kwara State House of Assembly, who is the Jagunmolu of Oko Irene, Hon. Chief David Bamiidele; former Speaker of Irepodun Legislative Council and Maiyegun of Oko Irese, Rt. Hon. A strong delegation from KWASU which was led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, included the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shayyk- Lukman Jimoh,  the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Silees and a Council member, Prof. Ibrahim Jawondo. 

Expectedly, Thomas Adewumi University showed class at the event with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo at the head of a colourful delegation that included the Registrar, Mr  Kolawole Fisoye. 

Representing Royalty were HRM, Oba Joshua Olutade, the Oniwo of Iwo, Kwara State,  the Oloko of Oko Irese , HRH, Oba Victor Olawuyi and  Olori Dr. Elizabeth Ajibola, who stood in for the Olusin of Ijara Isin, HRH Oba Ademola Julius Ajibola.
