NURTW Members, Artisans Dump PDP For APC In Kwara … Burn Political Fez Caps

Some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) , Kwara state chapter, on Saturday burnt political fez Caps that has the political slogan of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin, the state capital. 

The red political fez caps emblazoned with the catch phrase recently introduced by the PDP   ‘O’su wa,’ were earlier given to the transporters by the PDP to seek their support ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state. 

 Chairman of Task Force committee of the union in the state, Alh. Taiye Olose, was  said to have noted that they  took the decision to burn  the political fez  caps to show opposition to the comeback bid of the  PDP which is led by former senate president , Dr  Abubakar Bukola Saraki. 

He added that PDP has nothing new to offer Kwarans after ruling for 16 years alleging that the party had nothing to show for this before getting voted out of power in 2019. 

“Ko su a wa o (we are not tired)’ Olose said repeatedly while burning the ‘O’ su wa’  fez caps amidst cheers from his colleagues at Post Office, Ilorin.  They also reportedly chorused “Ko su wa o. Ramoni, Maa se lo’ while scrambling for the blue fez caps that has the logo of the APC.

 The  governor’ s media office  noted in a statement made available to  Team@orientactualmags.com that various transport unions in the state had on several occasions commended the Kwara State Government  for ensuring good governance and  for supporting  their members in the last three years. 

‘There are feelers in the town that artisans and transporters have decided to reject the PDP and support the APC ahead of the 2023 general election in Kwara state.

At different parks in Ilorin on the eve and the New Year Day, the transporters sang in solidarity with the incumbent Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq ,who is also the APC gubernatorial candidate’ the statement added.

Our reporter telephoned Alhaji Taiye Olose at about 9pm on Sunday and he not only confirmed that some members of the NURTW actually burnt political fez caps belonging to the PDP and later got the fez caps that has the logo of the APC but also noted that doing this was of their own volition and without prompting-Team@orientactualmags.com
