Oba Adekunle Aromolaran: Gov Adeleke Pays Condolence Visit To Ilesha, Calls Late Monarch ‘Legendary King’

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has paid a condolence visit to Ilesha to commiserate with the royal family and the people of Ijeshaland at large on the passing of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.
He was received by members of Ijesha Traditional Council and Elders at the Oba Adekunle Aromolaran Civic Centre, Ilesa on Saturday.
The governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed noted in a statement he issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that Adeleke was joined by all political office holders in Ijeshaland under Hon. Sunday Bisi’s leadership.
Chief Sunday Bisi is the state PDP Chairman.

Governor Adeleke recounted how the late monarch had stressed the significance of turning the University of Ilesa (UNILESA) into an actual institution rather than the audio venue that the previous administration had wanted it to be.
He described late Owa Obòkun of Ijeshaland, Oba (Dr.) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, as a legendary king who fulfilled all his developmental wishes for Ijesha Land during his lifetime.
The governor also talked about the late monarch getting angry because of the failure of his predecessors to dualize the Palace/Brewery junction road, and how he (Oba Aromolaran) had urged him to get this done while he was alive.
The governor said; ‘I promised Baba that those two wishes will be realized. It was on the strength of my agreement with Baba that I moved Unilesa from a mere paper approval to a functioning University with over 90 accredited courses.
Our Government not only provided the take-off grant for the new university, we equally commenced Infrastructural development of the university while I appointed a top-class Ijesha academic to head the university.
On the road dualisation project, we again awarded the project to an Ijesha-owned company and on the day of the flag off, our late Baba, despite his old age told me he must witness the flag off ceremony
At the flag off event, Baba expressed satisfaction that his lifetime ambition of getting the road dualised and actualization of University of Ilesa happened during his lifetime.
So, we’re here to commiserate with Ijesha people. This is a celebration of the life of a legendary king who was actually my dance partner during the governorship of my late brother, Sen Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke’.
While urging the people of Ijeshaland to ensure the emergence of a credible, learned, and committed new king who will build on the legacies of the late monarch, the governor also gave them assurances that the State Government would be actively involved in late Owa’s burial programmes.

Speaking earlier, Hon. Sunday Bisi disclosed that whenever the late Owa spoke with the governor, it was always about the development of Ijesha land, recalling the monarch’s love for the growth and development of that region.
He said, ‘I was there when Baba told Governor Adeleke that making UNILESA a reality and dualising Palace / Brewery junction road were his remaining life ambitions.
On behalf of Ijesa people, we thank Mr. Governor for fulfilling the wishes of the late Owa by actualizing UNILESA and by flagging off the dualization of Palace Brewery junction road project’.
He also implored the governor to uphold his memory of his ‘paternal’ collaboration with the late Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland by deepening his love and support for the Ijesha people, which he had always shown even prior to taking office-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
