Oba Sikiru Adetona: Failure To Observe Spiritual ‘Rite Of Passage’ May Result In Grave Consequences-Ijebu High Chief
A High Chief in Ìjẹ̀bú, Rasaki Adeneye has submitted that the people of Ijebu-Ode should not sleep with their two eyes closed noting that the failure to observe the spiritual rite of passage following the demise of Oba Sikiru Adetona may result in serious consequences.
Recall that Oba Sikiru Adetona, who was until his passing the Awujale of Ijebu-Ode, joined his ancestors on July 13, 2025, at the age of 91.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Adeneye, who is the Olowa Ibẹru Akile Ìjẹ̀bú, while talking to journalists also added that Isese rituals remain central to kingship and the peace of the land.
Every crown, bead, and palace symbol is according to him tied to Yoruba tradition and not foreign religions.
Monarchs who shun Isese are according to him clueless while adding that Yoruba kingship cannot be separated from ancestral practices.
Asserting that isese is the foundation of all faiths in the country, he added that appeasing deities ensure harmony while urging Ijebu and other Yorùbá indigenes not to be swayed by religious divisions-Team@orientactualmags.com
