Kwara state Polytechnic on Tuesday clarified that students at the institution were not among those who staged a protest in the Elekoyangan axis of the old Jebba Road, Ilorin earlier in the day .
Spokesperson for Kwara state Polytechnic, Ilorin, Mrs. Halimat Garba in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday noted that the polytechnic’s break had since begun while arrangements were only being made for a new Academic Session.
‘The Attention of the Kwara state Polytechnic, Ilorin has been drawn to an information which has gone viral on social media that the Polytechnic students are protesting in the Sango / Elekoyangan area of Ilorin in connection with electricity matters.
The Management wishes to disclaim this malicious news about the Polytechnic Students while clarifying that the protest was organized by members of the neighbouring communities who were said to be protesting against power failure in their communities.
Please, note that the Polytechnic Students are presently on break, as the institution is preparing to commence a new Academic Session.
Therefore, all stakeholders in the Polytechnic and members of the public are advised to be guided by this information and to always verify anything that has to do with the Polytechnic before circulating.
