Oluwo Announces PVC As Requirement Before Entering His Palace

Oluwo of Iwo, Osun state, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, has announced that PVC will henceforth become an important requirement before entering his palace.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned he said  during the visit of  Dr Mutiu Agboke to his palace on Tuesday.

Mr Agboke is the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun state.

General Election will hold in  the country  this year ; presidential and national assembly elections will hold  on 25 February 2023 while governorship  and house of assembly elections will hold on March 11 2023.

Oluwo noted that having a high percentage of  population that are voters  has political and economic advantages, urging the citizens, groups and associations to work with INEC  to ensure that  unclaimed PVCs are collected.

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi

‘I will start asking every visitor or anyone in need of help from the palace to show his or her PVC. We have to place a condition that will force people to collect the PVCs. Having the PVC is one of those things that qualifies you as a bonafide Nigerian once you are above 18 years. Voting on the Election Day further entrenches your citizenship’ he said.

He also suggested ways to stop vote rigging in the country.

‘Any member of staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) aiding and abetting election rigging and malpractice is incurring the wrath of God, not only on himself or herself, but his or her generation. If you influence rigging, you are indirectly inviting violence.

Electoral corruption always mars the democratic and economic growth of a nation. A patriotic citizen will never support rigging in whatever form. Let’s be honourable in our dealings’ he said.

Speaking earlier, Mr Agboke  had assured residents and citizens  of Osun state of  free, fair, credible elections, while urging Oba Akanbi to lend his voice to the collection of PVCs- Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
