Ondo Guber 2024: I’m Confident I ’ll Win APC Nomination…What Late Akeredolu Told Me -Ex-Finance Commissioner
Mr. Wale Akinterinwa , who served as, Ondo state Commissioner for Finance until the dissolution of cabinet by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa a few days ago, has revealed what former governor Rotimi Akeredolu told him with respect to the running of the affairs of the Sunshine state.
Gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold in the state on Saturday , November 16, 2024.
Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as governor of Ondo state on December 27, 2023, sequel to the death of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu, who was until his death last month, the governor of the Sunshine state, died in Germany, at the age of 67 after a prolonged illness.
Akerdolu’s tenure which Aiyedatiwa has inherited will end on February 23, 2025.
Wale Akinterinwa has said he is ready to join the 2024 guber race and will work towards making what Akeredolu wanted to become a reality.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Wale ,who said this in an interview with TVC News at the weekend,, disclosed that the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu had told him that he would like to have him as his successor.
‘The late Governor Akeredolu had a discussion with me in his office and he told me he would want me to take over from him. I didn’t take particular notice of the date he had the discussion with me but it happened immediately after he came back from his trip to Germany. He prayed for me and I am aware he told certain people about his desire’ he said.
The former Finance Commissioner also said he is confident that he would win the Ondo state APC gubernatorial nomination.
‘Well, at the appropriate time, I will officially announce my intention because it is not in doubt that I am still making further consultations, but I can assure you that I will get the nomination. The people of Ondo state are with me, and I am very confident that I will win the APC primary’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com
