Ondo SSG Denies Engaging In Shouting Match With Gov Aiyedatiwa
Secretary to the State Government, Ondo state, Mrs. Oladunni Odu, has described media reports claiming that she engaged in a shouting match with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa during a cabinet meeting as untrue.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Odu, in a statement she issued in Akure on Tuesday, described the media reports as a falsehood sponsored by her political detractors.
‘The report that I threatened to throw the governor out of office because I have President Tinubu’s backing can only come from someone who has no knowledge about the way governance works.
How do you throw out a governor, who has committed no obvious offence against the constitution? If the online platform knows of any constitutional infraction committed by the governor to warrant him being thrown out, the online news platform should say so; but as for me, I don’t know any.
As someone who understands Mr President’s respect for order, and who has enormous respect for the office and person of the President, I would never even think of bringing him into any matter. That will be a mere distraction to him even if there is any; and in any case, where is the power tussle that the online news is talking about? she asked.
Oladunni, who called Aiyedatiwa her brother, noted that she has enormous respect for the Office of the Governor and will do her work diligently and responsibly until her last day in office.
‘Those who wish to cause crisis in the state should remember that posterity will judge them, and the spirit of the founding fathers of the state will stand against them’ she submitted.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary , Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, has reportedly declined to comment on the matter.
‘No comment’ he told reporters.
Aiyedatiwa was sworn in as governor of Ondo state on December 27, 2023, sequel to the death of Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.
Akeredolu, who was until his death last month the governor of the Sunshine state, died in Germany, at the age of 67 after a prolonged illness.
Governorship election will hold in the state this year and the governor and Oladunni , who are both members of the APC , are seeking to get nominated by the party and would be contesting the primary election scheduled to hold in April- Team@orientactualmags.com
