One-Party State: President Tinubu Has Spoken Well, We’ll Take Him At His Word-Saraki
The nation’s leading opposition party, the PDP, will take President Bola Tinubu at his word in respect of the comments he made about ‘one-party state’ while delivering his ‘presidential speech’ to the joint sitting of senate and House of Representatives in Abuja on Thursday, former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has submitted.
Recall that the president had in reaction to insinuations that there are plans to make the nation become a one-party state called this a ‘terrible rumour’ while clarifying and asserting that his administration never had such a thing ‘in view’.
He had however blamed the opposition parties for failing to put their house in order recalling that a scenario in semblance with this had gotten enacted while the PDP was the ruling party, but he had remained the last of the ‘progressive governors’ standing in his region.
‘For me, I would say try your best to put your house in order. I will not help you do so. It is, indeed, a pleasure to witness you in such a disarray’ he said.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Dr Saraki, who gave his take on the issue while talking to journalists at the National Assembly Complex, noted that his party, the PDP is truly facing challenges while urging the opposition parties to focus on self-correction and reorganization .
‘I think we must take him at his word. I mean, he spoke well, saying that he’s not for a one-party state. So, we must take him at his word, and he supports a multi-party. So, we are all on the same page.
That’s why we are going around and bringing everybody to come around. So those who say they are under pressure, there is no pressure anymore.
