Osun 2022: Tribunal Gives Gov Oyetola Go-Ahead To Serve Gov-elect Ademola  Adeleke By Substituted Means

Osun 2022: Tribunal Gives Gov Oyetola Go-Ahead To Serve Gov-elect Ademola  Adeleke By Substituted Means

The Osun state Governorship  Election Petition Tribunal on Monday gave Governor Gboyega Oyetola the go-ahead to serve the Governor-elect, former  Senator Ademola Adeleke by substituted means.

Oyetola had through his lawyers applied for an order for substituted service.

The Tribunal is headed by Justice Tertsea Kume.

It will be recalled that  the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had announced   Adeleke as winner of the gubernatorial election held in the state on  July 16.

Adeleke  was the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the  said gubernatorial election while Oyetola was the APC  guber candidate.

Governor Oyetola had however challenged the declaration of  Adeleke as winner of the guber election  and also joined the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Peoples Democratic Party in the suit.

Team@orientactualmags.com  learned the tribunal that had its first  sitting  in Osogbo, the state capital on Monday  also granted the motion ex parte filed by the petitioner  seeking  permission to   inspect the election materials which are expected to be made available by the  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Mr. Yomi Aliyu,  who is Oyetola’s lawyer, had told the tribunal that a bailiff  given instruction to  serve Adeleke notice of the petition could not get this done  despite  visiting  his residence in Ede .

Aliyu therefore suggested pasting this on the notice board at the entrance of the court room designated for the tribunal sittings.

Justice Kume later granted the order for substituted service and ruled  that the notice should be pasted on the notice board as requested by  Oyetola’s lawyer.

He also granted request by the petitioners to inspect election materials– Team@orientactualmags.com
