Osun 2026: Actor Damola Olatunji’s Brother Emerges As APC Deputy Governorship Candidate As Gov Adeleke Retains Adewusi
Ahead of the August 8, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Hon Olatunji Babatunde Lekan, an indigene of Edunabon, has reportedly emerged as the state APC deputy governorship candidate.
Asiwaju Bola Munirudeen Oyebamiji, a former Commissioner for Finance and immediate past Managing Director/CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), is the party’s guber candidate.
Hon Olatunji Lekan, who was the Chief Whip of Osun State House of Assembly between 2019 and 2023, was a member of the state parliament for 8 years.
He represented Ife North state constituency and his brother, Damola Olatunji, is a popular actor.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is the Accord Party’s guber candidate, has also retained Prince Kola Adewusi, the current deputy governor, as his running mate.
There are three leading political parties in the state; Accord Party, APC and ADC and it has now been established that APC and Accord Party have taken a decision to choose their deputy governorship candidates from the Ife axis of Osun East
