Osun 2026: President Tinubu Urges Support For ‘Osun West’, Preaches Party Supremacy During Meeting With APC Guber Aspirants In Abuja…Omisore Stays Away

Ahead of Osun State APC gubernatorial primary which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025, President Bola Tinubu has met with all the party’s gubernatorial aspirants.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday night and the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda was also there.

Gubernatorial election is expected to hold in the State of the Living Spring on August 8, 2026.

Recall that the Screening Committee set up by APC National Working Committee headed by Chief Obinna Uzoh had noted that it ensured strict adherence to rules and requirements which had left 7 aspirants disqualified and had only Mulikat Abiola Jimoh and Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as aspirants who will compete and seek gubernatorial nomination.

The aspirants who were disqualified had however objected to the decision made by the screening committee and expressed resolve to fight it out.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that President Bola Tinubu during the meeting held with the guber aspirants on Tuesday presented himself as a neutral person and noted that it is important for all the stakeholders to work together.

He however emphasized the need for all the aspirants to allow Osun West produce the guber candidate while also preaching party supremacy.

He also noted that his support for Osun West as the senatorial district that will produce the party’s guber candidate was sequel to the discussions he had with Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba and other party leaders.

President Bola Tinubu emphasized the need for ‘unity of effort’ ahead of the guber election while urging the party leaders to immediately start the process of restoring harmony and friendly relations.

All the aggrieved aspirants, Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Prince Dotun Babayemi, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, former senator Babajide Omoworare, Mr Kunle Adegoke SAN, and Mr Babatunde Hareter Oralusi attended the meeting with the solitary exception of Otunba Iyiola Omisore.

Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that Otunba Iyiola Omisore was not actually opposed to the idea of attending the meeting but however chose to stay away to show that he did not accept the ‘manner of invitation’.

‘He was not happy about the manner of invitation, Omisore felt that as someone who is close to the president, the minister from the state and other stakeholders, they should have contacted him directly rather than doing that through a third party, hence his decision to stay away from the meeting in question’ she said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
