Osun APC Accuses Gov Adeleke Administration Of Overhyping Payment Of One Month Salary Arrears

Osun APC Accuses Gov Adeleke Administration Of Overhyping Payment Of One Month Salary Arrears

Osun state APC on Monday told members of the public not to be deceived by what it called the antics of the Ademola Adeleke administration with regard to the payment of one month salary arrears alleging that only eight per cent of the workforce comprising public sector employees from Grade Level 8 and above were actually the beneficiaries.

The state  APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Chief Kola Olabisi,  claimed that Governor Adeleke ‘is only seeking an unmerited media validation and public embracement with the accompanying media hype of the infinitesimal payment of the half salaries of just a tiny portion of the workforce’.

Lawal  added that the payment of  one month salary arrears which was owed the workers by the Rauf Aregbesola administration  was sectional as none has been given to the political office holders who served under the administration in question.

‘What’s the media noise about the selective payment of the one month half salary out of the many months’ half-salaries owed the workers by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola administration as if it is something extra-ordinary and unwonted?

Does it occur to Governor Adeleke and his political co-travellers that the vulnerable 72 per cent of the workforce who were not owed anything are not going to benefit from the payment of the half salaries which Adeleke’s megaphones have gone to town with?

One thing that is crystal clear is that Governor Adeleke has failed one of his campaign promises that he would offset the 30-month half salary arrears within six months of the life of his administration.

A gentleman’s word  is his bond. It means Adeleke who was showcasing and boasting of the possession of foreign currencies merely fleeced the electorate in order to fraudulently harvest their votes.

May we remind Governor Adeleke that it is easier said than done. Unless he is using a different calendar, this is the eighth month into his administration and he is yet to fulfill his pledge to offset the 30-month half salaries backlog even when he has access to more money than the APC government under Mr. Gboyega Oyetola had.

It will now dawn on the non-active workers in the state that the kick-and-start Governor Adeleke had scammed them with failed promises that he would clear the arrears of their pensions within six months.

Let me sympathize with the numerous pensioners in the state who are now receiving irregular pension bonds in trickles compared to former Governor Oyetola who used to release N1 billion plus every month up till the period that he left office.

I want to assure the workers and the pensioners that the good old days would soon come back to the state’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com
