Osun APC Alleges Extrajudicial Killings In Akinlalu…Accuses Gov Adeleke Of Inaction… Urges Egbetokun, DSS DG To Launch Probe
Osun State APC has condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke’s alleged lukewarm and uninspiring approach to the massacre of innocent indigenes of Akinlalu in Ife-North Local Government by the Amotekun corps, while urging the Office of the National Security Adviser, Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Security (DSS) to launch a probe into the alleged extra-judicial killings and ascertain if it is not ‘a rehearsal of the political plot by the PDP to unleash maim on innocent voters in the upcoming 2026 governorship election’.
‘How could it take the state government five clear days to plan a physical visit to a part of the state, that is just an hour’s drive from the seat of government, where state agents in uniforms have been accused of shooting to death citizens that are more than ten in number?
It is disappointing to note that Governor Adeleke only reacted to the gory incident in Akinlalu with a poorly written press statement days after he was called out by our party and prominent citizens.
The initial deafening silence of the governor was wicked, concerning and crassly irresponsible. It is now more concerning that the government had no plans to visit the mourning community until after a nebulous meeting on Monday.
What might have been responsible for the phobia of Governor Adeleke to immediately visit the scene of the incident where his agents of oppression and violence in the garb of Amotekun corps have needlessly thrown the Akinlalu community into a grieving centre?
We, as a party, are registering our dissatisfaction towards the extra-judicial killings of the innocent people in Akinlalu for whatever reason and we are calling for proper and meticulous handling of the incident by the statutory security services’ the party submitted in a statement issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Chief Kola Olabisi on Sunday.
.
APC also said the development stands as a vindication of its stance noting that the party had stood against Mr Adekunle Omoyele’s appointment as head of the Amotekun Corps as well as the alleged mass recruitment of political hoodlums into the peace-keeping para-military security service.
The party further alleged that under Omoyele’s leadership, the Osun Amotekun is daily becoming a ready and willing tool for political victimization and oppression.
‘Therefore, for the people to regain confidence in the outfit, there is an urgent need for a drastic reformation of the para-military force for it to operate with verifiable civility as it is the case in the other states in the Southwest geo-political zone and this should start with sacking of the heavily-indicted Omoyele and the prosecution of members of the Amotekun corps responsible for the pogrom in Akinlalu some days ago’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
