Osun: Don’t Involve Late Soji Adagunodo In Your Political Maneuvering, AFCF Tells Dotun Babayemi, Supporters
The Adagunodo Friends and Core Followers, AFCF, on Wednesday cautioned a former Osun state PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Prince Dotun Babayemi and his supporters against involving the name of the former PDP National Vice Chairman, South West, late Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo in their political maneuvering claiming that plans to convince their new masters in the APC that Babayemi is popular in the State of the Living Spring has been rebuffed by numerous Adagunodo’s friends and known core followers.
The continued involvement of the name of the late PDP national official in their political maneuvering has according to AFCF made his friends and core followers feel incensed hence the need to issue a stern warning to the Gbongan-born politician to stop doing such forthwith.
They noted that Prince Dotun Babayemi had not too long ago been told to warn some of his supporters to stop involving the name of their trusted person in any political manipulative tendencies.
The AFCF in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Alhaji Muniru Abiodun Ogundipe, who they referred to as ‘one of the childhood friends of Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo’, noted that they had on two different occasions had conference calls with Prince Dotun Babayemi and ‘his boys’ to stop involving the name of Hon. Adagunodo unnecessarily in his APC, agenda, this, Alhaji Muniru noted, happened when one of the former guber aspirant’s social media boys granted an interview and claimed that ,if alive, Hon. Adagunodo would have led them to APC.
The group added that they considered it shocking when their attention was called to another facebook message in which someone purportedly made a book of condolence available for the people to condole with Babayemi and his group over the death of someone who died a year ago (Adagunodo).
The AFCF noted that a decision was taken to issue this last warning to Omooba Dotun Babayemi and his associates to desist from making unnecessary jests of the Adagunodo’s group by forcing them to remember their saddest moments of grief and they have threatened to take a legal action ‘which may arise from reechoing their sad moments with a threat that they may be sued for cyber bullying their emotions and feelings’.
Alhaji Ogundipe added that Babayemi and his agents should take cognizance of the last public interview granted by Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo on Rave FM on April 25, 2023, before his demise during which he publicly informed those who truly loved him to go back to their various wards, join the party and be part of the government under Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke who he had also promised to meet and straighten things with before God called him to glory.
‘For anybody who truly loved Olasoji Adagunodo and believed in his cause while he was alive, it is pertinent to dwell on the doctrines and political ideology of the responsible politician as a mark of respect for him and not for some irritant political jobbers to be involving his name in a political party like APC that he hated so much while alive’ the statement added.
Alhaji Muniru Ogundipe also submitted that late Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo had expressed his mind during the radio interview in question what he cherished most – which is unity and cooperation to work together with Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke who he called a genuine lover of Osun state and her people.
‘Whoever truly loved Soji Adagunodo should go along with him on his political beliefs and ideology which he lived with till death closed his eyes’ he said.
Alhaji Ogundipe added that ‘ there is a need for all parties involved to respect the legacy and memory of the late leader’ warning them ‘to refrain from engaging in activities that may dishonour the name he had built for himself for decades’.
He also submitted that all true leaders and followers of Adagunodo have shown him enough respect by acting in line with his political views adding that ‘if the likes of Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun; Alhaji Fatai Akinbade; H.E. Olagunsoye Oyinlola, H.E. Erelu Olusola Obada, CON, (Mama Soji); H.E. Governor Abiodun Seyi Makinde; Prof Wale Oladipo; Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo; Dr. Oluwole Alabi (Baba Soji); and a host of other notable leaders, too numerous to mention, could align with Senator Ademola Adeleke for the development of the government and good people of Osun state, that is also the position of Adagunodo’s true friends and core followers’.
