Osun Govt To ‘Screen’ Pensioners With Chronic Diseases ‘Virtually’

As the verification of the documents made available by pensioners continued in Osun state on Monday, Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed that pensioners with chronic diseases should be allowed to do their own virtually.
Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon Kolapo Alimi in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday noted that such pensioners, will no longer be required to be physically present at the venue of the screening exercise.
‘Pensioners outside the state at the moment no longer need to travel down to Osun state as they will also be having their screening done virtually.
Additionally, pensioners in the diaspora will also be screened only through video calls.
In line with the above, the Pension Board is expected to make all the particulars, especially pictures of pensioners available to the Consultant, in order to ease identification during the screenings that will be done via video calls.
The above directives take immediate effect’ he said.
About 20 pensioners were said to have earlier in the day suffered exhaustion and had their health threatened at the Center for Black Culture and International Understanding, Osogbo which serves as the Screening Centre.
They were however attended to by healthcare workers attached to the Osun state Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System.
Speaker Wale Egbedun reportedly rushed to the centre and took remedial steps by directing temporary suspension of the exercise-Team@orientactualmags.com
