A member of the Osun state House of Assembly, Hon Adewumi Aseyemi Irekandu, has urged support for the new administration in the state under Chief Ademola Adeleke’s leadership while describing the viral press statement issued on behalf of the state legislature by Hon Moshood Akande, the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Publicity, as ‘incongruous’.
Irekandu , who represents Obokun state constituency, in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com asserted that the state lawmakers did not discuss or debate the inaugural speech of Governor Ademola Adeleke on the floor of the assembly adding that there couldn’t therefore have been a decision on contents of the said speech.
‘My attention has been drawn to a statement which reportedly emanated from the Osun State House of Assembly and was signed by Hon. Moshood Kunle Akande.
In the said statement, it was stated that the Assembly reviewed the inaugural speech and activities of the inauguration held on Sunday, November 27.
As a lawmaker, who attends plenary sessions regularly , I hereby state unequivocally that the no plenary session has been held since the governor’s inauguration.
It is also worth noting that there was no place where such a resolution was passed by the Assembly.
The public especially Osun people are hereby advised to take note of this.
I will however encourage and advise all my colleagues to let us work together and support the new government.
Let us make Osun our priority and move Osun forward to make it better.
